Nessus on Cygwin

Greetings. I was able to successfully compile Nessus on Cygwin (Windows 2000)
and even get X and the gui working. Nessusd does not work right, it returns
garbage to the client but I don't need that. The gui client does work right
when accessing a remote nessusd on a Linux server. What I really need to get
working is the command line nessus accessesing the remote nessus server. It
"sort of" works but just hangs up and never returns. With the debug output I
can see it doing some things and it does connect to the server. The same
command line does work when run on the Linux box so I'm pretty sure it's ok.
Does anybody have any experience with the Cygwin command line? I want to get
this working so I can have a web app call nessus and return scan results to a
web browser. It has to run on Windows since the app needs to use Windows-only
calls and services. How can I even debug this?
