libnessus.so.1 missing

When I try to run ./nessus-mkcert from /usr/local/sbin I get this error:

Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library loader is configured properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH

I’ve got some problems getting nessusd up. I made an installation that worked all the way up to connecting to the nessus server form a remote computer. Then I got X 509 errors (Thanks for your replies to this George and Max). I decided to uninstall the whole thing, since I seemed to have some other problems as well (multiple nessusd.conf files and some other error messages I can’t remember. Besides, I think I did a mistake during installation). 

This is where my problems began.

Question 1. Why does not uninstall-nessus remove evreything? I deleted things like /etc/nessus and it’s files by hand afterwards. I also needed to remove some libraries.

I’ve run the four ./configure, make, make install, seemingly successfully. I’ve haven’t read through all the stuff being written out yet, as I wouldn’t understand much of it, but no obvious error messages was found.

I’ve made sure that /usr/local/lib is in /etc/ld.so.conf, and I’ve 'ldconfig' as root (this was already ok from my first installation of nessus).

Question 2. Just to be sure: does /usr/local/bin and /usr/local/sbin need to be in roots path, or the path of the regular user (that does ./configure and make)?

I’ve checked, and can’t seem to find the file. These are the files I could find.
