More OS X Issues--nessusd Doesn't Background, nessus Can't Connect

Actually, it did finally start, but it takes about two minutes. I'm 
still having problems though--the client doesn't seem to be working. 
After I start it with nessus&, I log in and accept the cert, then 
nothing happens--the interface freezes and stops accepting clicks. I 
get the following sort of thing in the console:
