MAC addresses in Nessus "NG" report

Yes, the hosts I am scanning are on the local subnet.  Even if they
weren't wouldn't I get the MAC address of the router?  But yes, they
are.  I am even scanning the local machine (by actual IP and not
localhost) but not getting the MAC.

Are the hosts you are scanning on the local subnet ?
