Plugin modification

Hi,
  I might have asked this question earlier but it would be great if I could
get some help on this:

I want to use NASL for writing my own scripts specific to my network. To
help identify my scripts, I am thinking of modifying the scripts with a new
function call:
script_custom_id
My concern is that after I modify the NASL and the plugins, do I need to
publish the modifications ?
