local security checks for Gentoo Linux

I saw a bunch of local security checks for RedHat, Fedora, Mandrake, 
Slowlaris, etc. in my last nessus-update-plugins.

Has there been any work on creating similar checks under Gentoo Linux 
yet? If not, what contributions would be useful for getting it started?

Gentoo has a nice set of utilities for package management, version 
checks, etc. They also have a structured security announcment setup, 
(GLSAs) so it should be pretty easy.
