Hello all
I recently installed the latest version of Nessus (2.2.? - as of 10/31) on
a RH9 Vmware guest (riding on a Windows XP host). I had to download GTK+
along with the rest of its dependencies (glibc, atk, & pango including
libtiff, libjpeg, and libpng devel RPMs for the header files). Everything
installed fine for the GTK+ tarball and so I proceeded to install Nessus
using the nessus-installer script. I had no problems completing that
install successfully. So I did the nessus-mkcert, and nessus-adduser, fired
up the daemon (nessusd D) and then tried to launch the client from the
same machine. It was here that it gave me a "relocation error" and
unidentified object error and exited:
[root at localhost opt]# nessus&
[2] 26039
[root at localhost opt]# nessus: relocation error:
/opt/gtk/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: pango_find_base_dir
[2]- Exit 127 nessus
I figured with this kind of error, it should've balked at me during the
pango install... but I haven't programmed in a while, so I can't claim I
know the ins and outs of these debug messages like I used to...
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
FYI: I installed gtk in /opt/gtk and the rest of its dependencies are in
/usr/local/lib...
Mahalo,
Karina
