Nessus does not pick up NMAP or Nikto as plugin options

I have Nessus installed under /usr/local/bin/. Nmap is
under the same dir.
Nikto under /usr/local/bin/nikto/

All of these are under my PATH:
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin/nikto:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin

However no options appear under prefs section or
scanner section for Nikto and nmap.

What am I missing?
