This is a poorly managed error message. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I guess this means that trusted_ca does not point to the right file.
A bug was filled into Bugzilla; this issue is fixed (quick & dirty) in
CVS HEAD. http://bugs.nessus.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1052

Check your .nessusrc
If you don't use TLS between your client & server, make sure that
"ssl_version=none"
Otherwise, check "trusted_ca".
